A good friend of mine brought me here for my birthday and I couldn’t have been more pleased at our experience. Nougatine is a gem in the Trump International Hotel and Tower, just a stone’s throw away from Central Park and the Shops at Columbus Circle. If you want to treat yourself without spending too much, try the bargain-priced prix-fix lunches for $28.
The fried calamari with citrus chilli dip is a light and lively beginning. For an entree, I would recommend the slow-cooked salmon with sautéed potatoes, black olives and passion fruit – the combination of these brings a wide variety of flavours in one dish. And remember to finish your meal with Jean Georges’ warm chocolate cake with ice cream – always a great choice.
The decor is lovely and elegant without being too formal. The service is immediate and cheerful without being overbearing. And at the center of Nougatine lies the bar, which is a great place to grab some drinks before watching a show or going shopping. It’s a great restaurant to take your friends, family, or even clients.
