The vibrant Theater District sets the scene for Gurumé, a new Korean tapas bar located on New York City’s Restaurant Row joining a storied lineup of some of the city’s most famous restaurants.  Located in the former home of Broadway Joe’s Steakhouse, Gurumé is offering a new take on Korean cuisine.

“Gurumé,” which means “in the clouds” in Korean was dreamt up by longtime friends Executive Chef/Owner Joon Ryu and Co-Owner Kevin Chand. Ryu and Chand hope to encapsulate their own energy and provide an unforgettable memory for their guests with a cozy, intimate experience.

Gurumé’s seasonal menus are a unique take on Korean Tapas with influences from all around New York with more dishes ranging from the traditional like Pork & Radish “Bossam” to more innovative takes such as Birria Mandu or Oyster Mushroom Tacos.  Gurumé is hoping to provide guests with a flavor bomb with each bite.

Other options include Fried Chicken Wings with soy garlic and spicy radish cubes; Baby Back Ribs with citrus dwenjang, perilla tempura and chili corn purée; and Berkshire Kimchi Fried Rice  with tender Berkshire pork, caramelized kimchi, crunchy quinoa and onsen tamago. Dessert brings Injeolmi Churros, churro doughnuts with whipped cream, vanilla bean gelato, chocolate sauce and burnt honey.

An assortment of Soju Elixirs are also offered like the Seoul Mule with ginger, lime, and lager, Summer Sky with yuzu and sparkling blue, and Origami with yuja, lemon and white foam.
